3 New Stores in 3 States
Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. accelerated its nationwide expansion last week by opening two new stores on May 29 in Webster, Texas, and Lecanto, Florida. The grocery chain continued that momentum with a third store opening in Paramount, California, on June 5. Sprouts plans to launch additional locations across the Midwest and Northeast as it strengthens its presence in new and existing markets. The expansion reflects the company’s broader strategy to meet rising consumer demand for fresh, organic, and health-focused grocery options. Sprouts seeks to open a total of 40 new stores in 2026, with over 150 approved stores and more than 105 executed leases.
Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. kicked off a store opening spree that crossed state lines last week with May 29 double openings in Webster, Texas, and Lecanto, Fla. A third store opens in Paramount, Calif., on June 5, with other planned locations in the pipeline to land across the American Midwest and Northeast.
Webster’s first Sprouts joins the Baybrook Gateway shopping center at 1001 W. Bay Area Boulevard. Formerly a Party City, the 23,800-square-foot space will now house a formidable selection of fresh produce, sourced in partnership with local and regional suppliers like J&B Farms and Little Bear Produce Farms.
The store in Lecanto is located at 3209 W. Norvell Bryant Highway, squarely inside the city’s booming Shoppes at Black Diamond development. At roughly 23,000 square feet, the new Sprouts serves to anchor the shopping center, neighboring familiar retailers like Five Below, Ulta Beauty and more.
The Sprouts in Paramount is located at 15121 Paramount Boulevard in Paramount Square, a shopping center that also features a Panera Bread and a Panda Express. Mayor Brenda Olmos credited the organic grocer for providing the community with access to fresh food as well as an expected 90 new job opportunities at the store.
“I am thrilled to announce the arrival of Sprouts Farmers Market to the City of Paramount,” Olmos said. “City staff worked tirelessly alongside the developer and are proud to invest in the project because we want more healthy options for our residents.”
Each of the three stores follows Sprouts’ standard format, stocking fresh produce, bulk foods, vitamins and supplements, meat and seafood counters, deli items, fresh sushi, grab-and-go meals and other household staples, with Instacart-powered delivery and pickup available. Daily operating hours run from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at all three locations.
Sprouts has also established partnerships with a non-profit organization in each community through its Food Rescue Program, which donates unsold-but-edible groceries to reduce food waste and combat food insecurity. Donations from the Webster, Lecanto and Paramount stores will be directed to the Houston Food Bank, Feeding Tampa Bay and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, respectively.
Shoppers in Paramount who missed opening day can still take advantage of an opening weekend discount. Through June 7, new Sprouts Rewards members can receive 20% off their purchase using discount code PARAGO20.
Per its aggressive expansion strategy, Sprouts is aiming to open a total of 40 new stores in 2026, with over 150 approved stores and more than 105 executed leases in its corner. In January, the Arizona-based grocer entered New York for the first time through an outpost in Centereach; Sprouts confirmed to Progressive Grocer that additional stores in Hartsdale and Long Island are planned in 2026 and 2027. The company also recently signed a lease in Columbus, Ohio, to flip the site of a former Big Lots, with hopes to bring its brand of healthy grocery to the Buckeye State in 2028.
Sprouts is one of the largest and fastest-growing specialty retailers of fresh, natural and organic food in the United States. It employs approximately 36,000 associates and operates more than 480 stores in 25 states nationwide. The Phoenix-based grocer is No. 45 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s 2026 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America. PG also named Sprouts among its 10 Most Sustainable Grocers for 2026.
