Grand Canyon University will be the host site for the inaugural Phoenix Corporate Games, presented by the Visit Phoenix Sports & Events Commission and the Fiesta Sports Foundation.

The field day-styled event, slated for March 19, 2027, will feature company representatives competing in a gamut of activities designed to connect Greater Phoenix employees, celebrate workplace culture and give back to the community.

The experience will start even before event day as participants compete in pregames challenges.

Then on game day, they’ll tackle such activities as tug-of-war, cornhole, dodgeball, a wiffle ball home run derby, basketball shooting contest, soccer shootout and more. Wellness-focused events will be part of the lineup, such as yoga and walking.

Outside of the competition, the event atmosphere will include music, food and entertainment.

“With the Phoenix Corporate Games, we are creating a fun, festive environment for organizations to come together and exhibit teamwork and company pride,” said Fiesta Sports Foundation Executive Director & CEO Erik Moses. “This event promotes employee engagement, wellness and camaraderie in a way that has not been delivered here in Arizona. We incorporated a charitable giving component that makes a positive impact in our community, consistent with how Fiesta Sports Foundation serves every day.”

According to @azcommerce, a delegation of more than 30 Arizona legislative, business and economic development leaders completed a four-day trade mission to Ireland. The visit focused on expanding partnerships in high-tech industries, research, innovation and workforce development. Arizona and Ireland share strengths in semiconductors, medical technology, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, pharmaceuticals and clean energy. Trade between Arizona and Ireland exceeded $850 million in 2025.

The delegation met with officials from the U.S. Embassy in Dublin, Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and IDA Ireland. Members also visited Dublin City University and Trinity College Dublin to discuss research and workforce partnerships. At Intel Ireland, the group toured a campus that employs nearly 5,000 people and includes Fab 34, Europe’s first high-volume semiconductor facility to use Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography. Intel’s Fab 52 in Chandler also uses EUV technology and will manufacture Intel 18A chips, highlighting the semiconductor connections between Arizona and Ireland.

Additional visits included the Guinness Enterprise Centre, Enterprise Ireland and a roundtable hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland. The delegation also visited the Irish Parliament in Dublin, where lawmakers formally recognized the Arizona group during a parliamentary session. #ireland #irishdelegation #trademission #silicondesert #metrophx

Salad and Go filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday and announced it will permanently close all of its locations, serving its final meals Wednesday. The Gilbert-founded drive-thru restaurant chain submitted voluntary bankruptcy petitions in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas in Houston.

The company said declining consumer demand, rapid expansion challenges, and rising operating costs made its business unsustainable.
