Advanced Manufacturing Expansion
Global aerospace and defense electronics company Mercury Systems, Inc. celebrated the expansion of its Phoenix manufacturing facility. The company added 50,000 square feet of highly automated production space to increase capacity, improve efficiency and speed up deliveries for U.S. and international defense programs. The expansion will create more than 50 jobs over the next year. Mercury’s Phoenix campus already serves as its largest manufacturing center, employing more than 400 people. The facility produces circuit board assemblies, advanced memory solutions, high-performance space drives and specialized packaging technologies. Operations in the new building began during the third quarter of fiscal 2026. The expansion will help Mercury increase production of critical defense technologies, including its Common Processing Architecture programs.
PHOENIX, AZ (October 8, 2026) – Mercury Systems, Inc., a global leader in aerospace and defense electronics, today celebrated the expansion of its Phoenix production facility, adding 50,000-square-feet of manufacturing space that allows the company to increase production capacity and accelerate delivery timelines through vertical integration to support critical U.S. and international defense programs.
As the United States and its allies accelerate military hardware production across all battlefield domains, Mercury is taking steps to increase manufacturing capacity and efficiency in its operations. The company has invested to build out a new, highly automated manufacturing facility on the company’s existing Phoenix campus, which is expected to create more than 50 jobs in the next year, with significant capacity for future growth.
Mercury’s Phoenix campus is already the company’s largest manufacturing center, with more than 400 employees. The existing facility manufactures printed circuit board assemblies used across Mercury’s product lines and delivers cutting-edge memory solutions, high-performance space drives, and advanced packaging technologies built to operate in extreme environments. Operations in Mercury’s new building in Phoenix began in the third quarter of fiscal year 2026 and will allow the company to ramp up production for a number of critical products and programs, including its Common Processing Architecture programs.
“We are excited to expand our presence in Phoenix and bring more capacity online to meet customer demand for high-performance processing capabilities that ensure mission dominance for the warfighter at the edge,” said Tod Brindlinger, Mercury’s Senior Vice President of Operations. “We see strong demand signals across our portfolio, ending fiscal year 2026 with record bookings and backlog that our expanded production facility will help us to execute against.”
“Arizona has become a critical hub in the nation’s defense and advanced manufacturing supply chain,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “By expanding its largest manufacturing center here, Mercury will strengthen essential U.S. and international defense programs while reinforcing Arizona’s national leadership in aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing — all while creating high‑skilled jobs for our state.”
“Mercury Systems’ continued investment in Phoenix emphasizes the strength of our advanced manufacturing ecosystem and the confidence industry leaders have in the city’s talent, business environment, and long-term growth potential,” said Ryan Touhill, City of Phoenix Community and Economic Development Director. “This expansion not only brings more high-quality jobs to our community, but also reinforces Phoenix’s critical role in supporting national defense and aerospace programs. We’re excited to see Mercury deepen its roots in Phoenix.”
