About ALDI
ALDI is discount grocery market chain founded by two brothers in 1961 in Essen, Germany. They keep grocery prices competitive through a streamlined, no-frills business model. About 90% of their products come from exclusive private-label brands designed to deliver name-brand quality at lower prices. Stores typically carry only 1,400 to 1,600 items, compared with more than 30,000 at traditional supermarkets. ALDI also reduces operating costs with smaller store footprints, efficient layouts and refundable cart deposits.
