As the Phoenix community prepares to celebrate 602 Day on Monday, June 2, local businesses and organizations are invited to get in on the fun and participate in the planning. Annually, the City of Phoenix partners with local establishments to offer discounts and deals, or host events that promote community spirit and honor 602 as the City’s most historically significant area code.

Phoenix boasts a diverse culture, thriving foodie scene and one-of-a-kind art spaces. As 602 Day approaches, local businesses can help the community celebrate by offering various promotions. Whether it’s a $6.02 special, 602 Day-themed menu item or activity, or just sharing love for the community through social media, there are many ways to celebrate.

Local businesses and organizations can officially get involved by submitting a 602 Day Business Participation Form. The submission deadline is Friday, April 25. Following an approval process, all participating businesses will be included on an interactive, mobile-friendly map and list that will be published on 602Day.com starting on Monday, May 12.

In 2024, more than 100 participating entities offered a wide variety of discounts, promotions and experiences on 602 Day. While June typically marks the decline in peak season for many Phoenix businesses, by leveraging 602 Day several saw a significant increase in sales and customer foot traffic during early June last year.

Additionally, numerous Phoenix cultural locations and sports teams celebrated with the community by offering admission or ticket specials, including the Phoenix Zoo, Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix Children’s Museum, Arizona Science Center, Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Rattlers, and more.

Multiple City of Phoenix departments took part in the fun as well last year, with the Fire Department distributing 602 smoke detectors to promote fire prevention safety, Parks and Recreation offering free 602 Day t-shirts along with water safety education tips at select City pools, and the Public Library created a 602 Day badge for its Summer Reading Program.
