PHOENIX—The Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry today announced the launch of the AZ AI Leadership Initiative, a coalition of industry experts, business leaders, and policymakers working to strengthen Arizona’s leadership in next-generation technology, digital infrastructure, and workforce development.
The initiative will focus on advancing smart technology policy, bolstering the infrastructure that powers the digital economy, and ensuring Arizona’s regulatory environment keeps pace as artificial intelligence and emerging technologies transform industries across the state.
“Artificial intelligence is quickly becoming foundational to how businesses operate and compete,” said Danny Seiden, president & CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry. “Arizona already has many of the building blocks in place, from semiconductor manufacturing and data infrastructure to world-class research universities. This initiative brings together experts and leaders across industries to ensure our policy environment and infrastructure support continued innovation and economic growth.”
As artificial capabilities expand, the digital economy is increasingly shaping industries ranging from healthcare and advanced manufacturing to finance, logistics, and energy. The AZ AI Leadership Initiative will engage with policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders to help ensure emerging technologies strengthen Arizona’s economy while supporting innovation and job creation.
“Arizona has made significant progress establishing itself as a hub for advanced technology and innovation,” said Arizona House Speaker Steve Montenegro. “As artificial intelligence and advanced technologies continue to evolve, collaboration between policymakers, industry experts, and our communities will be essential to keeping Arizona competitive and prepared for the opportunities ahead. I extend my thanks to the AZ AI Leadership Alliance and the Arizona Chamber for their dedication to this important issue.”
“Artificial intelligence is already transforming industries and creating new opportunities across Arizona’s economy,” said Representative Justin Wilmeth, chairman of the House Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Committee. “I appreciate the Arizona Chamber bringing together leaders from across sectors to help guide thoughtful conversations around the future of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in our state.”
“Arizona is well positioned to lead in artificial intelligence and the digital economy, but staying ahead will take smart policy, strong infrastructure, and a continued commitment to innovation,” said Majority Leader Michael Carbone. “This initiative brings the right leaders together to keep Arizona competitive and turn emerging technology into lasting economic strength.”
The AZ AI Leadership Initiative includes leaders from public policy, education, healthcare, technology, advanced manufacturing, the energy sector, and other key industries working to develop a forward-looking strategy for artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
Members of the initiative and other technology leaders will participate in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Arizona Chamber during AZ Tech Week in April.
