Destination GSQ

Downtown Goodyear continues to expand as GSQ (Goodyear Civic Square) adds six new shopping, dining and service businesses. Sephora, J.Crew Factory Outlet, Lovesac, Postino, Miel de Agave and V’s Barber Shop will join the mixed-use development near McDowell Road between 150th Drive and Bullard Avenue. Residents identified several of the new business tenants as top choices in a recent city survey. GSQ has also attracted Nordstrom Rack, CAVA, Fogo de Chão, California Fish Grill, Paris Baguette, Spinato’s Pizzeria and other businesses. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Magdalena and Flower Child plan to open before the end of the year. The growing tenant lineup strengthens GSQ’s role as a major shopping, dining and entertainment destination in the City of Goodyear.

Downtown Goodyear continues to grow with six new businesses announced for GSQ, bringing even more shopping and dining options to the city’s growing downtown.

Sephora, J.Crew Factory Outlet, Lovesac, Postino, Miel de Agave and V’s Barber Shop are the latest businesses announced for the mixed-use development around Goodyear Civic Square near McDowell Road from 150th Drive and Bullard Avenue.

“Goodyear’s downtown continues to grow into the vibrant destination our community has envisioned,” said Mayor Joe Pizzillo. “These new businesses bring more of the shopping and dining experiences and build on the incredible momentum happening across our city.”

“We’ve felt the love from our West Valley fans for a long time, so bringing Postino to Goodyear feels really special,” said Lauren Bailey, CEO and co-founder of Upward Projects. “The City of Goodyear, GSQ team and RED Development have been incredible partners in helping shape a place that feels thoughtful, welcoming, and full of community. Goodyear has such great energy right now, and we’re so excited to pull up a chair and be part of the neighborhood.”

“Last year, the City of Goodyear surveyed residents on the retailers and restaurants they most wanted to see, and Sephora, Postino, Flower Child and Spinato’s Pizzeria all ranked in the top 10,” said Mike Ebert, managing partner of RED Development. “Bringing those names to GSQ reflects the kind of leasing strategy we’ve built this development around.”

Three restaurants, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Magdaleña, and Flower Child, are set to open at GSQ before the end of the year. Other businesses recently announced for GSQ include Nordstrom Rack, CAVA, Fogo de Chão, California Fish Grill, Paris Baguette, Handel’s Ice Cream, Reformed Pilates, Spinato’s Pizzeria, Qdoba, Berry Divine Acai Bowls, Petfolk and more.

Tempe-based Dutch Bros Coffee plans to acquire 51 former Salad and Go locations after the fast-casual chain filed for bankruptcy, with the ongoing cyclosporiasis outbreak contributing to its collapse. Salad and Go filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday and announced it will permanently close all of its locations, serving its final meals Wednesday. The Gilbert-founded drive-thru restaurant chain submitted voluntary bankruptcy petitions in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas in Houston.

The company said declining consumer demand, rapid expansion challenges, and rising operating costs made its business unsustainable.
