Voters Approved Proposition 495 in 2025
The passage of Proposition 495 in 2025 cleared the way for San Tan Valley to become an incorporated municipality. San Tan Valley residents voted to incorporate on Aug. 5, 2025, after several previous attempts. Then, on Sept. 17, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors approved the incorporation, making San Tan Valley Arizona’s 92nd incorporated municipality.
Beginning July 1 of this year, the Town of San Tan Valley assumed responsibility for services previously managed by Pinal County. With more than 100,000 residents, the town became the largest community ever to incorporate in Arizona and one of the largest newly incorporated municipalities in the nation. Incorporation gives local leaders direct authority over community decisions while allowing the town to reinvest tax revenue into infrastructure, public services, and future growth.
